Why you ask? Because most of them contain toxins that you are licking! Such things as canola oil, palm oil, petroleum, artificial colours & fragrances!!!! And the list goes on.

It’s super simple!!! And your kids can make it with you

As you can see this video goes for 8 minutes so it doesn’t take long at all!!!

Recipe:

Makes approx 10-12 tubes. 50g.

- 20g Shea Butter

- 10g Beeswax

- 10g Coconut Oil (stuff from the pantry)

- 10g Cocoa Butter

- 20 drops of food grade essential oils

Method to my madness:

1. Heat all except essential oils in a double boiler (pirex jug sitting in simmering water OR heat in microwave for 30-40 seconds)

2. When all is melted, remove from heat and let cool for 10-15 mins.

3. Add essential oils of choice (don’t add too soon otherwise they won’t be as strong).

4. Use a syringe to squirt lip balm into containers quickly as it will solidify quickly. Ensuring it is wound down first

5. Let set for 20-30 mins and use as needed ️

** Notes: citrus oils are photosensitive, and spice oils such as cinnamon are warm. Others to try: Wild Orange, cardamom, Lime, Lavender, Frankincense, Peppermint, Tangerine, Lemon.

If you want it softer or firmer play around with the ratio’s ⚖️ :)
