Are you feeling overwhelmed? That tightening in the chest feeling, with your head full of "stuff" that needs doing? Dont know where to start? That was ME this morning :(

It takes me a lot of effort to stick to a schedule.... a lot! I build up tasks in my head so big they seem impossible to tackle....... and then I procrastinate, wasting time. I am my own worst enemy!

I find being really really strict with a schedule is key for me. Not only does it allow me to time block and allocate time to certain tasks, it takes away of lot of that tight feeling in the chest and clears my mind a little as it all goes down on paper.

I am also really good at starting 2-3 tasks and then not finishing ANY of them D: My husband calls me HJ....... no not in a dirty way......... Half Job Sarah!

In my schedule I now have a section of "to do's" and I write a 1 next to the most important one. That is the only one I need to complete today. THE ONLY ONE! Anything else is then a bonus.

I transfer any tasks not done to the next day and add any new thoughts that have come to mind throughout the day...... THROUGHOUT THE DAY....... otherwise its gone by the time I go from the toilet run to making the kids a snack.

Sometimes I find I hang on to those tight feelings in the chest, like I'm addicted to that horrible feeling. Even though I write a lot down now I still search for that drama. As human beings we have been conditioned to look for drama, to hold on to it! Why? I have no fickin idea! The real question is how do we break out of that?

My last blog was about reading! READ READ READ READ! Even though I used to hate (hate is a strong word but yes I HATED reading with a passion!) I was so eager to change and improve some areas in my life and began reading some personal development books.

Another thing that gets me through those feelings is my essential oils!!! They provide me with a sense of comfort and clarity. It also mean I have to sit for 1 minute and tune into my body and ask it what it needs. Our body has its own innate intelligence and know what it needs...... we just need to listen every now and then.

This morning I chose BASIL, BERGAMOT & LAVENDER PEACE.

BASIL

“The Oil of Renewal” Promotes mental alertness and lessens feelings of anxiousness when diffused.

2 drops.

BERGAMOT

"The Oil of Self Acceptance" has a calming and uplifting citrus aroma.

3 drops.

LAVENDER PEACE (aka Serenity)

"The Oil of Tranquility" lessens feelings of tension and calms emotions.

3 drops.

In to the diffuser they went and I enjoyed that calming, uplifting sense of relief. The book "Emotions and Essential Oils" is a great resource to understand which essential oils can support our emotions and moods. More info on resources here www.snwbc.com/resources

Diffusing the essential oils is a great way for the whole family to benefit. If there is a sceptical husband or a moody teenager who isn't very proactive, diffusing is an amazing way for them to breathe in the essential oil properties and endless benefits :D
