Why you should ditch the candles....

Yes they look stunning, yes they smell great…. But……..

  1. They are FULL of chemicals

  2. The open flame can be very dangerous.

  3. Many candles contain paraffin, a petroleum waste product found in candles, has to be chemically bleached and deodorized before it can be made into wax

There are some great alternatives:

-Soy-based candles; however, something to keep in mind is that the majority of soy is genetically modified, so you are still breathing in pesticides.

-Bees wax candles; VERY expensive. For approx. 20 hours of burning time a candle will cost anywhere from $19-$60.

A Diffuser on the other hand, permeates an ultrafine, yet substantial mist output in the air, releasing the aromatic AND therapeutic benefits of essential oils quickly and safely. No heating of the water. It should also have a timer and an option to turn a soft light on or off.

BUT….. you need to be VERY careful about which essential oils you use. Some (like candles) contain contaminants, fillers, are not 100% pure as the labels states (there are no regulations in place to control this).

A candle will only make the house smell nice, whereas the right essential oils (ones that are of a Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade) will not only make your house smell nice but they will also offer your body respiratory support, clear out airborne pathogens, sleep support, uplift the mood, support our emotions, help us to concentrate, boost our IMMUNE system and soooooo much more!

They can be applied topically, diffused or some may even be taken internally to support the digestive and endocrine systems!

But what about the cost??

Lets say the cheaper option bees wax candle cost $19 for 20 hours.

A good diffuser starts at around $55, a CPTG essential oil cost starts from around $13. There are 250 drops in this bottle.

So if you broke down the cost per drop, it will cost 0.05c and the diffuser may take approx 6 drops per 4 hours……

Over 20 hours the essential oil will only cost 0.25c

If you divide the cost of the diffuser over the 20 hours of use (running at 4 hours per session) it will cost $13.75 per session. Plus the .25c = $14 in comparison to the Bees wax candle. AND THEN THE DIFFUSER CAN BE USED OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER ;)

But its not all about the COST! Lets say you used Wild Orange in the diffuser.

Here are just some of the benefits from Wild Orange:

  • Uplifts and energizes your mood

  • Kills airborne pathogens

  • Protects against environments and seasonal threats

  • You can also use Wild Orange in spray bottle to cleanse benchtops!

  • You can take internally to support a healthy immune system and digestive system.

The list goes on and this is just one essential oil!

So it not only makes your HOUSE SMELL NICE but there are so many benefits from diffusing the right essential oils.

Can you imagine overhauling your medicine cabinet and how much money you would save by having these versatile products in your home?? Let alone how many chemicals and toxins you would be reducing for your family's health.
